Hi,

The nacelle with motor, all in place.
100% FSA intake and 85% FSA exhaust.

A man must know his limitations. For the moment, you've exceeded mine. You'd need FAA clearence to put that in the skies hear. You had a Corsair at 230 km/hr. Your Ergo looks smokin sitting still. Good Luck on the maiden and use a radar gun!!!

Stef, Thank You Sir! You have done a superb job in the smalls work and craftsmanship representation. WOW! I believe the scale speed will surpass mine by a mile! Its gonna be so quiet it will scare you! Did you scale the nacelle intake for 100% FSA at the mid point of the inlet lip radius?

Thanks Tom, i hope it will fly well..

But the nacelle don't work quiet at all, many noise coming from the sharp inlet lip, and when i use the big radius alu lip the fan become quiet and smoth, little slow down in RPM but increased thrust! May be in flight with air speed things could be different??..

I use the drawing printed scaled for 43mm diam fan that gives 36mm diam inlet, on mine it's 38mm, just over 100% FSA but the inlet lip radius is very small.

i don't know what is the best inlet shape to minimise nacelle drag and maximise thrust.

Study an airliner's Ducted inlet shape, as a simple guide ?
Usually the profile of an airfoil's front section works well.. beyond that, it's an open to experimentation issue.
Relocating the Rotor deeper into the ali shroud gave benefits on My 40mm edf unit.
Bit of a pain/risk to dissasemble to cut the Motor shaft length though.

For speed I would have a very small radius on the inlet and reduce to about 90% FSA but that depends on if you have ample thrust if not you will need to keep it at FSA

Yes it should smooth out after the speed builds up. Static thrust whine and the inlet noise will subside and the speed will build after a lap so hang on!
You need a mini bungee launcher like CN and Pdawg use on the Microlite!
