Twisted Hobbys - SuperLite Crack Yak - Indoor Model

..........

Indoor fanantics your dream has come true... an indoor specific Crack Yak.
Based in part on the Original Crack Yak designed by Chris Jewett that has taken
the 3D foamie market by storm. This airframe has been thinned down, lightened
up and tweeked to bring you the feel of an indoor precision flying depron plane
with the durability of EPP. Twisted Hobbys' and RCF have done it yet again.
Don't be fooled this is an indoor plane, right down to the Gym Floor style wheels,
with the right components and a little effort you will have a 32" plane in the 120 to
130 gram range that will approach the flying characteristics of a much more
fragile Depron F3P style aircraft. Use the power components from the Twisted
Hobbys' store for a great sport setup or for the seasoned pilot, add the gear you
are familiear with for an all out F3P experience. With the Indoor Season around
the corner this would be a great addition to any hanger.

Specifications:

Wing Span = 32"
AUW: 120-130g
Full EPP construction
Carbon Fiber landing gear
Extra-large control surfaces
Incredible control authority
Slow and Smooth
Ideal F3P trainer
EPP Durability

.
.
Recommended Required Components:

13 - 18g brushless motor
6 - 10A ESC
Micro Receiver
(1) 8 - 11g Servo
(2) 4 - 6g Servos
7” to 8” Prop
2s 250-450mah Lipo

Hey Guys,
I was able to fly this new Twisted Hobbys Crack Yak Super-Lite yesterday in a gym. This Plane rocks steady. This is the slowest flying yet aerobatic plane I have ever flown. I know it is larger than some mini planes but has a lower wing loading to fly slower than most EPP foam planes. I like when I crash I can pick it up and fly again. With the new counterbalance ailerons the rolls are fast and precise and stops on a dime. I'm using the stock power setup with a Twisted 2 cell 250 mah battery. Conditions are always perfect inside in the winter time!

It is 5 mm, Nadine.

Nice flying, Benton. I fly my prototype at the smallest indoor spaces I have flown ever, like corridors etc. I would never believe this possible. I grab this plane for learning any new indoor maneuver that I feel might be normally too risky for the airplane.

Looking good guys! We are proud to offer the new in-door Super Lite series in the Crack Yak-55 design. What's most amazing is the construction and materials to delivering a light weight, super thin yet ridge airframe with out all the known bracing associated with indoor ships,, its a beautiful fate

Looks like an awesome plane. Guess I'll add this to my list.

I've been trying to learn that turnaround that Benton does 13 seconds in with no luck. Time to go study the video frame by frame....

How does this compare to the Laser? Speed, durability etc?

Hey Guys,
Thanks for the nice comments!! I still so look up to Cody and Chris and they are the better pilots. Very Nice job on the build thread and photos cdee.
smarblewnec this plane compares to the Laser as slower and due to that the roll rate is a little slower. They both fly pretty similar and track very well. I haven't crashed the Superlite yet so I can't answer that question. I feel that the thinner epp foam will be fine since the weight of the plane is less and flies slower. The plane does not seem fragile at all.
