Unique Models T-50

Ok I know this plane has been talked about in a few other threads, but I just recently started taking interest in the hobby and now into this 70mm EDF jet from Unique Models. Unique Models is the manufacturer of this amazing edf jet. It's developed to be matched with a 70mm edf power system. Stock versions of this model usually pair a 45A esc with a 2865kv motor. The coolest features of this jet are its servoless scale retractable landing gear. The jet also features a mechanised canopy as well, and although the pilots also go up with the canopy, it is still pretty awesome. Early carriers of this model were and probably still are... easytigermodels, rccastle, hobbyshopwarehouse, edfhobbies. I am sure there are much much more... but probably the best website to purchase this model from is hobbyking!!! In my own personal experience, hobbyking offers this model in its PNP and kit versions at such a great and affordable price, I recommend this jet to anyone looking for a great 70mm edf jet. This plane handles so great and looks great in the air with it's retracts up!!! I would say that my two favorite edfs are the T-50 and the Dynam Meteor. I will post up videos for your viewing pleasures of my experiences with this amazing edf jet!

jk671,
Nice vids. I am sorry for your loss, she was a pretty bird. Were you flying 4S or 5S?
Hope you get back in the air soon.

Thanks! I actually got my new t-50 in last night! I was flying on a 4s... but I just picked up some 5s batteries that I'm going to try in the t-50. However! I am gonna start taking things really slow! I am tired of crashing all my planes!

Good for you. Get back in the saddle
I will be curious to see how the K-force ESC works for you on 5S and what timing you end up using. Good luck with your future sorties.

Thanks... with the k-force I have the timing at 0 for now... the 2-in-1 programming box from turnigy is what I am using to program the esc... I might change the timing but for now... low definitely seems the way to go!

Hi i also recently got a t-50, had my maiden last weekend...really liking this plane. I will like it even more when the M1 shows up. I balanced my fan but did notice something when i ran it without the front nose cone on it. When the front cone is on the fan gets alot of vibration, without it, it feels really smooth with much less noise. Any downside to not using the cone on the front of the fan? Has anyone modified the intake ducts or added a thrust tube to this plane?

with that 100A k-force esc I never had a problem with heat... honestly... when I had that esc in the t-50 on the 4S I actually had it on a pretty high timing... I didn't really know what I was doing when I setup the timing, but I figured it out later. So I am going to try and fix that problem and test out the power of each setting before I put it in the plane.

I have the MB1 motor in mine, and in turn purchased the sapac 70mm edf unit with it. The fan is balanced and runs very smooth. is there anything wrong with you not using the nose cone... not necessarily, however it helps keep the little nut that fastens your fan onto the collet in place... especially while spinning at such a fast speed... kinda risky. you could try to balance the spinner too. there's a few people who have done this... the sapac unit has a cone that attaches to the back of it... it helps cool the motor and creates kind of a reverse thrust tube

Thx!!

Yeap, I got 4 MB1s, thinking of putting two of them in my Starmax F14 just to see 8-9 pds of thrust on a twin 70mm jet...should be fun.

Do you know if you cam does TV out WHILE recording? That's a sharp camera...it's up there with GoPRO IMHO but GoPRO is 100s of dollars.

Thx
