ALULA 'Trek' official thread. NOW ON SALE yay

Today was day one of the Alula TREK sales.

I miss my original Alula, never bought an EVO, but was very excited to learn of the new TREK being released by Dream-Flight!

I caught wind of the first day of issue being today at 9 AM PST and so I kept refreshing my browser and sure enough, about ten minutes till the hour, the 'add to cart' button went live

Anyone else pick one up yet?

There are five videos of the Alula-Trek in my review that went live today here in RC Groups. Two from me and three from Dream-Flight. There are also other videos in the original Alula-Trek thread shot in Europe. Mike H

Mike, I too use the Dx9. Would you mention which servo (R/L) will be aileron and which will be elevator? You made mention you had to switch them around from your first attempt to get proper stick orientation. What was the final installation?

When the Alula-Trek is broken down to go back into its box/backpack, do the clevis stay attached to the elevon horns? The clevis look unique and wonder if during the breakdown are there screws/clevis/small parts to be lost? Or is everything captive and just disassembles.

You setup your dual rates on two switches. Do you use a separate switch for high/low rate of each function (ailerons-elevator)?

Thanks for the detailed review

Thanks for the thread KoP. I ordered a Alula. Unfortunate that the control rods and clevises were not made like the control rods and clevises found on the Radian Pro. What would be the low voltage cutoff point for the 4.8v battery so as not to damage to it or crash the plane?

I I almost bought one of the originals the other day, but procrastinated long enough to miss out. The Alula Trek is a better plane and deal than the plane i was offered. I read someone fell into the foam vat and died causing the planes built after the accident to stink like rotting corpse. If its true a very unfortunate situation.

Are you saying the new version is not outperforming the old version or maybe your speaking to the vat of foam and the alleged factory worker falling in it? Either way i have a Alula Trek on its way.

I haven't seen the pushrods/clevis on a radian pro. Are they handy/convenient?

I'm not very savvy when it comes to batteries but with a NiMh pack I wouldn't let it ever go below 1.0-1.1v per cell. I believe with Ni-Mh chemistry, you run the risk of cell reversal when over discharging.

I'm excited too about the alulaTREK. I ordered first thing yesterday including the flight pack/spare gear set/ballast weights
