CuitePDF in AutoCAD

HI Folks

I have been using CutePDF and various version of AutoCAD both personally and professionally. In many instances this program works better than Adobe.

All the professional drawings I have done have all been on standard size sheets so creating a PDF has never been a problem. These are documented in AutoCAD tables.

Currently I have been drawing an Italian model vintage glider and as modellers use full size plans this drawing has finished up as 914mm or 36 inches wide and about 60inches long.

Modellers are unique in that we like our drawings full size and a full size plan.

My main CAd programme is AutoCAD Mechanical 9 and CutePDF creater.

My problem is creating a special size sheet. It should be easy by following the prompts, but no.

I have looked at various forums and there has been many recommendations but one work on the above AutoCAD programme.

If any one can help I would be most grateful.

Cheers John Quigley Australia

In my very old version of AutoCAD 2004, with Adobe Acrobat 9, if I Plot to the Adobe PDF device I can choose a 92x92 inch paper size. Sending a PDF of a 36x60 inch file to a large format plotter that way ought to work. I guess it depends on the sheet sizes the CutePDF offers.

If you want to PM me, maybe I could try it with your file. What version of AutoCAD was it created in?

Custom Paper Size in CutePDF

Screen shots are from Windows 7.

Open Devices and Printers, right-click CutePDF, click "Printing preferences".

The CutePDF Writer Printing Preferences dialog opens. On the Paper/Quality tab, click the Advanced… button.

The CutePDF Writer Advanced Options dialog opens. In the Paper Size: drop-down, click "Postscript Custom Page Size".

The Postscript Custom Page Size Definition dialog opens.
Adjust these settings to the page size you require.
Set the Unit section to *Inch or *Millimeter.

I tried printing from Microsoft Word 2010 to CutePDF.
I did a Print Preview. Selected CutePDF as the printer. I clicked "Printer Properties", I clicked the Paper/Quality tab, then the steps are the same as above: click the Advanced... button, choose Postscript Custom Page Size, etc.
