The only 'glider' landing gear I have come across is the single retracting wheel type.

What exactly are you looking for your x8, a trike set up ?, tall enough for prop clearance and take-off ?.

I don't think you will find much if you look for 'glider' landing gear, what's wrong with just the conventional gear as used on power models ?

Just had a scan through the pictures in the X8 thread looking for U/C, (not a lot), but there were plenty of ramps/catapult systems shown, also a couple of launch dollies.

See if these individual posts help --

thanks a lot mate, as you said not much, well i want to use a robust glider landing gear for the X8 only for landing purposes, where i live there is no airfields for RC planes so we hand launch everything and strengthen the botom of the plane to protected from the hard ground, the ground we have is desert type though not the soft sandy type so we cant take-off from ground unless the landing gear wheels are BIG! its very effective to use the glider style landing gear i also tried it before on EDF jets and larg gliders and it worked nice, my first test was using the fox glider gears after i strengthen it with heavy fiber glass, i though about glassing the bottom of the X8 but the plane is too heavy so this method will not help.

oh sorry i didn't mention if i use a normal method of retracted landing gear then the gear will be ripped off and even brake the base of it.

In case you want to see others, here's a Google Images search on "RC glider retract"
