Immersion Rc 40mW vtx, good range?

I'm in need of an immersion vtx and I'm looking at this one, http://www.readymaderc.com/store/ind...roducts_id=155
40mW seems pretty low to me, but I'm fairly new to fpv. Has anyone used this and what were the pros and cons. I'm not looking to fly miles away, maybe a mile at most.
Thanks
Garrett
Ps, if anyone has a spare immersion vtx they want to sell, lete know please.

40mw is nothing. Get a 500mw Tx otherwise you will be disappointed with the terrible range.

Also, be aware that 2.4ghz is littered around bigger cities. You'll need to go out a ways before trying it.

I have a lot of good experiences with this tx.

Minimum range 600m maximum 1600m. The only problem for me comes from the other guys flying 2.4GHz RC at the same time.

Always with Fatshark builtin receiver and stock antennas.

Not bad for 40mW = 16dBm.
