the only thing you could try is copy the file and then rename it to .3ds and try it
or try to import as all formats.
none of my software imports .mld
but i found this model her for 35$ http://gunpoint-3d.com/model-ma.html

You could always try ModelConverterX.

A great little programme that works well with most models and should, at least, give you something to work from.
