Tow coupling ready with a 30 kg servo .

The pushrod is a spoke from a bicycle wheel

And wings are ready for cowering wednesday

Release design

Release looks a bit of a concern to me. Just my view. You don't want it to jam under extreme load.
I would support the pin over the length that is above the bracket with a thick tube or drilled block. Lube it with grease. Try and get rid of the bend in the spoke. That will just straighten out underload and cost you pin movement. Keep the servo arm as short as possible for the movement you want to maximise pull.
Finally test what every you come up with and prove to yourself you can release with a load of twice the glider weight.
It could save your model and a tow plane.

Tested the coupling with 24 kg pull with no problems, after that I move the spoke to the innermost hole in the servo arm.


Working on the wing root today, this is not easy because its twisting and turning in all angels

Nice to have a large basement.. but it needs 3 rooms when the wings are on.:
D

Yes, it will work, but..... This is the kind of tow release I would expect to see in a 3m china ARF, not a high end 6m ship....
