30" Pitts

Off the plans...

Elevator = 1/4" up, 1/4" down
Ailerons = 1/8" up, 1/8" down
Rudder = 1/2" left, 1/2" right

ailerons throws: watch out

I would suggest you to put a maximum throws on ailerons because mine had a strong tendancy to turn left. And after reading about other pitts owners, many of them had the same problem.

Also If you can you should mix ailerons and direction (I have done it after first flight). It really is a lot easier to fly and help to make nice and soft turns.

Good luck

Thanks guys-

I'm going to max the ailerons and do the mix as suggested. The poor aielron response caused me grief on takeoff last time I flew this plane.

Surfer-

How much mix do u use. I tried 15% and it was not near enough.

I only had one flight then I broke off the tail wheel. I do more damage in pre-flight then in flight sometimes. Anyway, not near enough flight time to see if I still like it.

It was just as hard to get off the ground as I remember

about mix

Mumblety,

I will check for the exact amount of mix when I get back home.

The principle is. The master is the aileron servo with a maximum throw. I would say when you turn left at the maximum on your aileron, the direction must follow and turn left about half the maximum throw. I don't know in figures ... it should be about 50%?

Will check and confirm it tomorrow.

Anyways I also had some problems for firts flights but once you find the trim (for me it was right trim) and coorect mix it is quite easy to fly.

Also another tip for take-off. I found it easier to take off if you put full gas immediatly.

good luck.
