I use it, with no problems 1 inch away from Lawmate antenna and RL on high power. That said, these are mass produced systems that vary in tolerance and often component manufacturers. Two other things to note; It has been asserted that recent vintage Lawmates Rx's have had quality problems. And, be sure to use the latest RL firmware as Sid made some mods to improve VRx compatibility.
I use the 1W Lawmate VTx.
One last consideration, if you use a hand built/tuned antenna, such as a SPW or CL, you will get a filtering effect for out of band frequencies. Thus your SNR will be much better than with the "duck" antenna. Do a search and check out spectrum analyzer wave form shots to understand more clearly.
Hope this helps,
Steven

I'd like to suggest/request a feature.
I have an 8 channel transmitter and dont want to tie up channels 7 and 8 with a headtracker input. Can the firmware be modified to instead add the headtracker input as channels 9, 10 instead?

This would make better use of unused channels...

Is there a way to map the HT to channels past 8 I have a x1000 HT and it looks like 8 is the limit

I don't think RL Tx cares what channels the HT is using. It just looks for any two PWM pulses
and injects them into the end of the PPM stream without changing any of the other channels.
Problem with the feature above is it would have to completely rewrite the PPM frame
(compressing each PWM pulse) for all channels, in order to add two new ones. A 10-12
channels won't fit in a normal PPM frame length unless you make all pulses narrower.
If you're going to mess with rewriting the PPM stream, I'd use something like
Channel Wizard, which is designed for that purpose.

multi Rx FS setting

I want to use another Rx on a separate plane. I'm confused how to handle binding for different planes.

Plane #1
RVOSD requires FS throttle to be set above normal operating range to trigger RTH.

Plane #2
Nova OSD requires 3position switch to FS on 3rd position to trigger RTH

So it would seem to change planes it would require rebinding and reset of FS each time. Easier on the Nova but the RVOSD requires prop removal and throttle trim adjust set FS etc.

Any other way? Ideas?

The Rx stores the failsafe. Just set it for the Rx in each plane. Done.

Great! I thought binding resets failsafes. Do I bind each receiver separate and it doesn't cancel the other bind so both receivers will work at same time?

Binding does reset failsafes, but you only have to do it once per Rx.
Regular bind is just for the Rx's sake. Once both Rx are bound to the Tx, they would
actually work at the same time. Only an advanced binding would change the Tx id
and then you have to rebind all Rx.

Just received my Rangelink..

I just received my Rangelink today.. (Thanks Sid... took only 11 days from China)

My question is.. Does the Rangelink Tx/Rx come already flashed with the current firmware?..
If not, what cable is needed to flash with.? USB..? Can someone post a pic of it??

(I'm a Dragonlink V1 Ex-user.... Upgraded to Rangelink)

Michael,

I'm not Sid, but I bought a second system months ago which already was delivered with the latest firmware. RangeLink is very stable for long now, so chances are very high your system is up to date.

With regard to the programming, you can buy such a cable in Sid's store.

Is this unit pretty much guaranteed to work out to at least 1km no matter how it is setup and what environment you fly in? Motors, escs, cameras, vtxs, etc all in close proximity?
