New Guy X350
Hi folks. Just got a Extreme X350 as a gift
 . Never had anything RC in my life. Figured I'd find a forum (this one) to learn what I need to know, get, do, etc.The little bit I've read on the X350 seems to say the longer shaft is better - is this an easy swap for a beginner or something for hobbyshop? About flight lengths - do bad things happen after 6 to 7 minutes? How about the brushless motor option - worth the money and is that something easy to swap? That's all I can think of so far. |

Trident, You are correct. the longer shaft is better but since you are a total newbie, don't worry about that or the brushless option for now.
I strongly recommend getting some 400 size training gear as well as a R/C simulator for practice. As far as flight times, you need to time your flights because when the battery hits LVC (low voltage cutoff) it doesn't glide. It drops  The heli is easy to work on. Just follow the dirctions and take your time. Come on over and join us in the main thread for the X350 and we can chat about it more there. Also I recommend staying in very calm/ no wind conditions until you can fly it comfortably.
Although it handles wind much better than all other coaxials, it can still ruin you're day if you're don't stay on top of it. |

Thanks for the info Les. Where is the X350 specific forum located? What kind of total time should I limit to avoid LVC (sum of all flights)? How about heat and individual flights?

If you start at 5 min... That will seem like a Lifetime when you're trying to learn to hover. 7 min is safe though. Honestly, I've never hit LVC with mine. You'll need to check with some of the other guys in the thread . Just read through the thread and join in when you want. Welcome! |

x350 rotor shaft
