F3P flying with FPV gear only in a gym

I began to fly FPV in a gym using F3P plane last november. I fly 3D and I use only the picture send by my video cam aboard the plane to my video headset. I think I'm the first to do it, never heard another one doing it. Here a video record yesterday, quality is not great because it is inside a building, but you can see the view I got while flying. For more info, come on my thread on FPV/video-piloting forum:

Your the first I've heard of. I was thinking that was probably due to the rules not allowing it but I'm not sure they stop you FPV certainly more of a hindrance in the schedules than the normal fixed point of view though.

Rules not allowing it???

Rule do not allow to fly FPV in a gym or elsewhere??? I doubt someone even had think to include FPV restriction in a gym. I don't see where is the problem to fly FPV if we follow the rules from Transport Canada, I should have someone on my side who always look at the plane. This rules is to avoid collision with real aircraft when fly outside, but in a gym....

I say rules as you mentioned F3P. F3P is a competition class for indoor precision aerobatics. Not saying it isn't cool

That is the info from rcg... it is April 4th and 5th. Maybe post in there. See what they (JTG. And Tnt landing gear) say as they are the main sponsors of the event.

How do you keep from crashing when the video freezes for 10 seconds, then works for 2 seconds, then freezes for 15 seconds, then works for 1 second, then freezes for 35 seconds... Vimeo stinks LOL. I gave up before the 1 minute mark.

Martin Müller, then working for IKARUS, was experimenting with a "spy-cam" on an indoor model back in 2003 - not via video goggles, but using a laptop screen. I don't think you would gain any advantage over a "conventionally" flown model regarding flying the F3P sequence.

I agree I don't have any advantage, it is harder to do compare to conventional flight. Perhaps one day others will fly FPV in a gym and then the competition will begin for us.

I would like to participate mainly to show it is possible and others will follow
