Question
Any Maryland Boaters???

Hello, to all RC Boaters.

I'm putting this out as a general hello, and question. Where are the boaters in the state of Maryland? I've been going solo over the last year, if you're in the area feel free to drop me a line.

John

Below are the ships in my harbor/dockyard.

Marylanders seem to favor sailing and racing:

Maybe contact them and see if they have any members who build scale too.

John, There are several scale boaters in your area. I just move out of Westminster area up to the Allentown area. There is a group of us that meet one Saturday a month throughout the summer in forest hill, MD and in winter we meet at the YMCA in Schrewsbury, PA one Sunday a month. Then there is the Task Force scale Regatta every August, and the final get together is the Cabin Fever Show in York PA in the early spring. They set up a nice sized indoor pond for the three day event.

Solomon Island: http://simbc.wikifoundry.com/ Lots of scale sail, but I know there are tugs and such in the club. Very welcoming. And the site for my scale sail article: http://matthewsmodelmarine.wordpress...craft-regatta/

And across the bay: http://www.cbmm.org/l_model.htm

John,

When is the next meeting? I'm interested in the group, talked with my wife and she's cool with it. One other question, my boys (9 and 7) are into it as well would they be welcome to tag along?

The TF 50/Shrewsbury YMCA people are a great group. I regularly attended last year and will again this year. They next meet Nov. 9th. I believe it starts at 10 AM.

John,

If you need any more info, I'm the guy. Email me and I'll put you on the email distribution list. subdude17349 AT comcast DOT net

We run at a local pond in the summer, and rent the YMCA pool from October thru April.

Hope you can join us Sunday.

Jim

Thanks Jim,

I 'd like to be put on the list. As for this Sunday I'm unsure if my family will be coming up, we're still talking about it.

I understand about spelling (spell checker is my friend), but I thought it might be interesting to see everyone trying to eat in handcuffs.

I hope to see you all sometime over the next couple of months.

John,

Missed you yesterday. We had 12 folks with boats in the water, and another few spectators. Hope you make it next time.

email me and I'll put you on the email distribution list.

Thanks for posting that! And BTW, I never got a chance to tell you that the workmanship on your Brig Niagara is spectacular. Just beautiful!
