Question
Anyone tried the new Spektrum module for the Evo

As anyone tried this module

http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...odID=SPMMS3132

Any comments ?

Is it a true 12 channels for the evo ( not something like 10 + 2 on-off)

What evo version is it working with ?

tks
Thierry

My LHS told me mine was on the way last week. I might get it today if UPS is working today.

Wow $340

Sad, when you can get the Royal9 new for $380.

I saw the price, almost choked on my coffee. Went to the Spektrum site ...

http://www.spektrumrc.com/Search/Def...Term=SPMMS3132

Kit comes with AR12000 receiver ....

Went to HH ....

http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...dID=SPMAR12000

The receiver is $210, which put the the transmitter module at about $130. Only problem is that I could not find on HH or the Spektrum site just the EVO transmitter module and a price for it. So far it looks to only be available as a bundled deal. Pretty much a bummer as I would have gone for the TX only portion, as I have several 6 channel 2.4 Spektrum receivers on hand and would like to reduce to one radio.

Oh, didn't notice that it came with a 12 channel Rx. That isn't to bad then. But yea, I would hazard a guess that most people would just want the Tx module.

hehehe I smell a lot of AR12000 receivers for sale on rcgroups in the next weeks

My module is suppose to be there in the next week.

I just hope that Spektrum send some sales statistics to Hitec by after, so those guys can see how wrong they are not certifying the OEM Multiplex module in North America.

But... the evo is in direct concurrence with the Aurora ( at least for the 9 channels range of customers)

I was very willing to spend $180 just to get 9 channels of FASST working in my Evo. I don't see why anyone needing over 8 channels of Spektrum technology would balk too much at $130 for the module. If they needed over 8 channels then they might actually need the 12 channel rx. Otherwise, $40 plus the cost of an removable antenna will get you going with 8 channels... I am intrigued and I am hoping this system works well.

I looked for a bit around the Spektrum site and did not find the individual module. If I had the module, I would have called my LHS today and placed an order for the module.

I emailed Horizon about buying just the module. They won't sell just the module, you have to buy it with the rx.

OUCH !! Bad move on their part. I have no need for a 12 channel receiver. I do have a lot of need for 4,6,7 and 9 channel receivers. Too bad for me.

Gonna sell my Hitec 2.4 stuff as it is sort of hit or miss with the EVO 12. Looks like I may still be waiting on JETI.
