Great Planes Escapade Sport GP/EP Choices

I recently purchased an Escapade sport a RimFire 46 800kv motor and plan on using a Eflite Pro 60A ESC and either TP 4S or 6S 45C 3300 battery. My confusion comes from the published data that Tower and the Escapade manual conflict somewhat. The manual suggests the Rimfire 46, 4S 3300 battery, their 60A ESC and swinging a 12X6 prop. The ElectriFly web page suggests a 60A ESC, 6S battery and 10X5 to 11X5 prop.

I'm looking for the performance my Pulse XT25 has with the Power 32 on a TP 4S 3300 swinging a 13X6.5 prop using 60A ESC. I get a solid 7 minute flight and generally put back in around 2100. I generally just cruise around a tad over half throttle but it has the power for near unlimited vertical performance which makes it fun to fly. What I don't like is it's light wing loading on windy days.

Data Logger stats for the Pulse are 44A, 640W, average speed of 90mph

My question is what do you guys suggest on battery configuration and prop size for the RimFire 46??

Thanks in advance!

Jim....

I fly mine on the stock Rimfire motor, ESC, 4S 4400 40C batteries, and the recommended APC prop. Performance is excellent and I set my timer for 5:30. I have a heavy thumb so better throttle management would get you some more time.

Good luck!

I intend to fly my escapade with the same 46 rimfire & ESC but I want to use 6S 3300 or 5S 4500 both of which I have. I hope this doesn't make the plane come apart due to speed. I notice that the plane doesn't have much aileron throw although it is almost full length aileron. I'm thinking I can dremel out a little more room on the control arm hole if need be..

I have had this plane with the same 46 rimfire motor, I used both setups of 4 and 5.
4 cell 12x6 prop,60 amp esc setup is ok and fun to fly, but once you go 5cell you will not go back to the 4 cells, I don't recall the flight times but around 5/6 mns on mine.
not sure on the 6 cell setup or what prop to use but there is a flying buddy using the rimfire motor in a rv8 on 6 cells and I think with a 11x6 prop and its very fast.
I suggest a 5 cell setup and a 11x6 prop with the 60 amp esc.

I was kind of thinking that the 6S might be a bit fast for the escapade not knowing whether everything is glued, re-inforced good enough and whether the hinges would withstand the stress placed on them. I know its a bit overkill but I'm installing an 80Amp esc because I have a new one laying around. Also thanks for the info on which props I might need for the different batt. sizes.
