I had the luxury of a club member clocking me today with his radar gun. The results were a bit surprising to me. In successive passes, here were the readings (in mph):
I really didn't think it was going quite that fast!
Thanks to all for you contributions to this project, and to Donsrc.com for the technical setup guidance on the EDF, and to several in the support forum for the Guardian Stabilizer system.
I think I've met nearly all my design goals... . Now I just to learn how to fly this thing.
Attached you can see the current thrust tube, cut to the desired exit diameter out of a plastic storage cup.

It's been a while since my last post.
I'm about ready to maiden the next generation!
This one has added the following features:
The original model finally got to the "beyond repair" state after a number of flip-overs from aborted take-offs and a few times on the landings. Hence the reason for a few of the upgrades in this version!
I plan to do maiden on my previous Tunigy Nanotech 2650 4S battery. Once I've settled in on that one, I plan to also test the new Turnigy BOLT (high volt Lipo). I have a Bolt 3450 4S. With the .5 higher voltage and increase in MAH rating, I'm hoping this will add even a little more muscle and/or increase my flight time from the original 3 minute range. Will keep you posted.
I hope to be offering full build plans and instructions for this version in the near future.
