Is it possible to run flaps and gear on a ar6100 and how if so. I have a y on my ailerons and a y on my flaps and they all work but I cant get my flaps to run in the same direction because they are on a y..... please help....

Flaps & Gear(retract) requires you to have FLAP servos on the Aux1 channal.

So if you have a dual servo flap setup you have no choice but to mechanicaly take care of orientation or get a reversing Y harness. Some will say you can't use them with Spektrum BUT I have no experience with them and can't really comment on it.

The only ways to get the flaps to go in the same direction if the two servos are on the same channel are:
  1. Mechanically: shift the push rod and arm for one flap to the other side of the servo. Of course, that's not always possible.
  2. Get a reversing Y-cable or an in-line reverser (note that Spektrum specifically recommends NOT using one of these.
  3. Reverse one servo. This involves switching both the motor connections and the pot connections. May be tricky on a small servo.
  4. Find a similar servo that rotates in reverse.

Swap the 2 motor leads around.
Swap the outer leads of the pot around.

Should do the trick but like mentioned above could be a bit trick on small servos.

Depending upon the size of your aircraft, a JR Matchbox is a much better choice than a Reversing Y. The Matchbox allows you to set Neutral, Servo Direction, and End Points, for each servo.

I have never had good luck with Reversing Y's. Many times, the side with the Reversing circuit would drift off Neutral every couple of flights.

If a AR6100 is being used a think JR match box might be overkill. I don't know just saying.

I agree that reversing cables are pretty dodgy. But Matchbox is too much for a smallish model. Best bet is to reverse the servo if the OP has the skills and equipment.

I agree if the model has no room or weight is a factor.

Ya think!!!!! Good catch

Always better to get the mechanical linkage correct, As Daedalus mentioned in post #3.
While no mention has been made as to what ARF this is. I do know there are ARF's out there with the flap servo pockets molded in a mirror image as they should be for ailerons, but NOT the flaps. I guess the designers think everyone buying the model has at least an 8 channel radio and has the luxury of having each servo on a separate channel
Pete.
