Sorry I forgot, the flighttime is 24min in this setup (with 4x4S9000 foxtech). With 4x4S11000maxamps.com it is 30min.

I only have 4S batteries (removed all 6S), another reason is, that I can power the VTX/Alexmos directly.

Here another video:
2013-08-24: X16 practice (5 min 41 sec)

The "total fuel" will be 4x4S8000 Zippy=3kg (=28000-30000mAh usable) here I have 25min. With 4x4S11000 maxamps=3,6kg (=40000mAh usable) I should be able to beat the 30min.

I already had
19min with 4x4S6000 nano-tech=2,5kg(=21000mAh used) and
16min with 4x4S5800 ep-car-lipo=2,0kg(=18000mAh used)

The more I am playing around with calculations, the more I find these formula valid:
http://www.flugst0ff.de/copterflugzeiten-berechnen/

My efficiency coefficient for this copter is 0,37 (just for a comparison the quad I used for the 65min flight hat 0,42)

If somebody is interested, I have attached an xls-sheet where you can enter your own data and get a flight-time estimation. The "efficiency" value is something to be determined for a given prop/motor/esc-combo, and is (hopefully) in the range of (0,3-0,5 the higher the better the efficiency) the "capacity" is the mAh you recharged (not what is printed on the lipo). Please be aware, that this is not my formula, it is the formula of the page cited above, I just put it into an xls-sheet.

best regards

Ferdinand
Sorry to bring back such an old thread!

Could you explain what "capa Netto Kapa" means under the E column. Just a little confused how that works itself into all the quations

it just means what mAh you really can get out of your battery, not what is on the sticker.

The X16 got a facelift ...

Took off the motors:

disassembled the frame:

new frame with direct connections on the booms:

reinforced with CFK rovings and finally added cfk reinforced aramid-wavers:

Motors mounted again:

-250gr in weight, and now overall better stiffness especially the torsion.

weight is now 3400gr with landing-legs (here the weight could still be optimized).

Testflight was already successful, video will follow.

best regards
Ferdinand

Ok,
you are using them a lot, on many multis, have you ever had any problems with them?

I mean, your multis are not exactly cheap but your still use such rather low cost motors.
