looks like 15lbs on 12s @ ~ 110amps is the norm, wonder if the motor can take anything higher.

Lee, any other place to buy 4.5" fan?
Hobbyking has listerd as on backorder.Been checking for a week and still the same.
Also, 120 amp hv ESC also on backorder.
I am converting and old Reagle Eagle from OS 91/Dynamax fan to your system.
I have read all the posts in this thread and you have done great work that will benefit all of us.
After investigating all the PNP systems and the cost this beats them, hands down.

Thank you for the education and hard work.

Thanks for that link on the fans CA. That looks like a good source.

As far as the 120a HV esc goes...... The Turnigy 120a is the same as the the one sold under the Hobby Wing brand. I think there are quite a few sources for the Hobby Wing type. They can sell for much more though. If you can find the Hobby Wing at a good price, buy it, it is exactly the same product, just a diff lable.

Wow what a great thread guys. So much info. I have a turbax impeller coming from JHH and a fan from Hobby king but the speed controller was sold out. Checked out lowpricerc and they have the hobby wing brand of the 120A speed control for $132. That's cheaper than hobby king so I ordered one. Hope to get my panther project back on track.

dont bother using the turbax spinner....they are way out of round and balance. i think lee got the spinner from the 5" haoye to work. ive got a friend working on a cnc alum spinner, but im sure it will be a few weeks. to be honest, theres not much loss in thrust by not using the spinner. so run without it till we get a good solution, or try to make the hoaye work.

Put me down for a pair of alu spinners when they are ready, as you say getting the stock spinner to run true is a bit of work.

This is awesome. I wish I had found this thread before I wasted money trying to build my falcon with an os 91 df, which quit on me this past weekend leading to a crash. Now, i'm wanting to turn it into a pusher prop but I have no clue where to even start. Can someone tell me what size prop this motor will turn on 10 or 12s? Is there a better motor for a prop setup? I would like to go DF but I don't want to buy parts from a million different places and try to put it all together. I appreciate the help.
