[RCSE] RE:AVA Issue at NATS

I think I can speak about the AVA that lost the part on launch because it
was my AVA.

I did louse the far right outer wing panel I am not really sure but I
think that I may have caught it in the winch line. I had enough rudder
authority so that I was able to over come the lost of the wing tip. I
caught a small thermal after I got things settled down and was able to
get about a 4:30 flight and that was because I was not willing to go that
far down wind with a damaged bird other wise I may have been able to max
the flight, Also there was enough control that if I had not pulled the
spoilers early (pilot ground short) I would have got on the landing spot,
Not that I am that great of a pilot but more the AVA was that stable.
Now as to support Kennedy models once he found out what happened to my
AVA he immediately took the wings and told me that he would send the wing
back to have it repaired for me and when I asked how much shipping would
be he said no charge, he would shoulder the burden of the cost of
shipping...
Now that is what I call support and in response to the structural
strength of the AVA would not give it a second thought to buying another
one (not that I need one as mine is fine less one tip) in fact I am
getting in line for another one and a electric version.

I had a perfect side shot on it, I always watch Dan's launches when I can.

That may have happened, it was deep in the bucket and totally aggressive,
but one helluva launch and zoom!!! 8-)) (and the flight was awesome too
considering the condition of the model)

That is one flight that I will remember, and remind you over a beer in the
future... heh heh heh

I'm not going to comment on Doc's flight with the AVA, as I will get all the details at the field. As to Barry Kennedy, I will also agree whole heartedly. I got an Organic from kennedy composites and he has been right there for my emails and phone calls. Pleasantly backs what he sells. Now if I can just get him to tell me of his electric AVA!
