Here is my very short build thread pictures

The Dumas 17 inch Walnut kits make great conversion projects. This is the 3rd model I have done in that series. They have all flown as good as they look. This one flies on a Hyperion 1 cell 180mah. Really looks great in the air at 1/2 throttle.

very nice, what do you seal your tissue with?

I used old fashion 50/50 Dope/thinner with a brush. Simple and easy to do although fumes are really strong and require serious ventilation.

I like using the ends from Parkzone micros with my own carbon rod.

Or you can bend your own. I really like the prebent ones because the Z bends are really tight. Shrink tubing and CA to attach the wire ends to the carbon rod.

I presume you use a heat gun (soldering irons work well, too) to shrink the tubing, right?

The shrink tube that comes with the Parkzone pushrod/end-pieces is smaller than the smallest shrink tube an electronics parts store carries. So where can one get this very small shrink tube?

3/64ths shrink tube works fine for me - lots of places to find it and I just happen to sell it in small quantities, should get to you really quickly as we're both in Colorado.

HH Heat shrink is .8mm which is about 1/32" (smaller than 3/64")

The Cheapest source for this is Dealextreme.com... just a couple bucks.

In a pich I use the smallest blue shrunk tubing from DuBro. I wish I could get the HH stuff alone. I hate to buy a pushrod set to get shrunj tubing.

Thanks Chris, I didn't realize it was that small. I will order some and stock it from now on. Perhaps have a cheaper shipping option (than my standard $2) if all you order is shrink wrap.

I do it after. Basically, the CA becomes the last "line of defense" to keep the rods together, with the shrink tube being the first. Just put a drop or two of CA on either end of your shrink tube once you've shrunk it.
