Question
Is this Wing Joiner Okay?

Hi
I was sent this wing joiner as a replacement for a model I am repairing. Do you guys think it is okay to use?

To me the construction looks a little unusual. My experience with snapped wing joiners has been quite unpleasant so I am cautious.....

Tom

If I'd made it, I would've considered it a 'scrapper'. Sorry if that isn't good news but it is honest news. The reason behind my assessment is that material near the outer edges (top and bottom) does the most work and that one has a 'sub-optimal' amount of laminate in those regions.

Having said all that, will it work? In reality, probably 'yes' (due to these things being over engineered in the first place) but customers should never see parts like that.

Agreed, to be honest.
I don't know why it was sent out to a customer (me).

Personally I would save it and perform a structural test on it. Is the other side straight?

I think you need to contact the vendor that sent you the joiner and send them the picture. Ask them if this is what they want representing their quality of product. If they are smart, they'll replace the joiner.
