Wiring a Four Servo Wing

I love soldering! Sarcasm of course, but it is necessary duty I guess. I am wiring my wing on an Omega 2.5 and have all the wires soldered and pulled from the servos to the root, and have a four plug Deans connector soldered in place at the end, one on each wing (black on one, red on the other, glad they come in two colors!). Pretty simple thus far...

Now my question, on the receiver side, I know I need two for signal, but do I need a + and - for both servo leads or just for one? Could one lead to the receiver have just the signal wire? Can't think of a reason not. Not much of a weight savings, but thought I would ask.

Thanks!
Kit

My standard connection is to use one 24 Guage wire for power and a 26 or 28 for signal. I put a signal and ground on one and signal and positive on the other. You need the two pins to make sure the connector stays in the rx. The wire is silver plated copper with a thin Teflon insulation but it is expensive.

If you really hate soldering, the nicest wiring I have seen delivered with a model comes with the pike perfection. It is nicely done and not overweight.

Good idea on the two pins. Makes sense.

Where do you source that wire? I just used heavy duty Hitec three strand like I always have, but individual wire would make parts of the process easier. None of the runs on the Omega are very long, but still...

The quality of the wire and connectors are important. I get my wire from Hansen Hobbies.

You can take the 3 wire and pull it apart for individual wires.

Alpha wire 2844/19 is the 24 guage. Newark carries it. The 26 and 28 start with a different number.

If you crimp the 28 then you need a short piece of heat shrink right at the end to crimp.
