I finally took to heart advise printed in a number of FF articles, always set the Dethermaliser before letting the plane go, even on test glides. Never needed a DT in any contest I competed in, but I have lost a lot of FF planes just sport flying.

A couple days ago I was thinking about some of the FF (and one of my early RC) planes that went out of sight forever. Wondering how much organic matter was contributed to the countryside. And how long did it take for the landing gear wire and engines to finally turn to dust?
I must not be using my time well if I can waste it on this kind of stuff.
