Question
K&A Me-262?

Looking at K&A's site, they've got a glass 262 for $143. 44" span, AUW of 28-30 oz and a SD6060 airfoil.

Anybody flown one? Own one? There aren't too many 262 kits out there, thought this was at least worth looking into.

Jeff

(Beautiful paint job, 'eh?)

I seen this model at the Mid-winter electrics I just attended, K&A had a couple of different kits that looked worth looking into including a russian mig. I cant give you any more detail unfortunatly I was too busy checking out the most awsome e-heli demo I ever seen and I have been to 2 TOC events!

hey jeff,
not sure about the 262, but FWIW, their accelerator is a pretty good light air sloper. the fiberglass fuse has been really durable, too.

I'm pretty surprised nobody has one of these, I figured it'd be a pretty popular plane. Although I can't start any new projects for awhile, I can still plan my next one....waaaaay in advance!

I remember something that I believe TFLG said about the K&A models...very scale planforms but need a very good blow to fly. Have sort of thick airfoils (are basically power planes) and don't have the best performance when compared with a hardcore PSSer like a CSD kit. So that may be part of it, but hey...don't let that stop you! Go for it, if only for the fuse

I don't know Steve,

$150.00 for a fuse is kinda spendy. Still, it's awful cool. Kinda got a weak spot for those 262's.

Well don't take my word for it, I don't know either way. I just have a faint recollection of hearsay that may or may not be accurate with regards to this plane. The airfoil is SD6060, right? That's probably pretty good, though I'm not an expert. If you build it with removable wings you could always do a second set with an RG14 or whatever. Too bad there's nobody with experience with this plane on this board (apparently)...

Ken is a great guy to deal with, though. I've dealt with him a few times, and have no reservation recommending him.

Target

PS. The Accelorator is a nice light air, and agile 60" sloper.
