On my next trip to California I'm going to try this whip stick idea with my Fusion. Should be able to get to thermal heights...maybe?

Speaking of thermals. My fusion went way higher a few times while the wind dropped off at this less than ideal slope.
Very interesting, thermals even on a cold overcast day.

Nice Andrew!

Does you stab go full 90 up for the multi-flips? With that kind of altitude you could easily capture the southern hemisphere multi-flipping record.

Dice,

Are you planning a clipped wing build or a scaled down build?

I am making mine to similar dimensions of a Coquillaj from Aeromod. So scale down a bit.

Yes 90º up but I have not achieved multi flips yet. One flip then radical stall yes, but sustained rotations no. Will keep trying.

If you have 90 degrees up, then all you need to do is work the CG back and multi-flips will become automatic.

Thanks Dawson. Just as soon as I glue it back together (after the last multi flip attempt) I'll play with the CG.

Hi guys,

I got the "slope fever" after buying the Alula Trek. Browsing the slope forum I found this great thread and became really enthusiastic about the model. With given information and the plans I drew up a model in CAD. Thinking about a slightly different pod.

Just need to build a larger wire cutter to make the wings..

+1 ... Same formula for planes, wings and planks to multiflip. Cg back to where you need some expo to fly smoothly in pitch ,and also full 90 on the elevons/stab.

Nice drawing. What materials are you thinking of building the pod from. Looks like a nice and clean design. Best of luck.

Hi Leadfeather,

I'm thinking of sanding it from a block of foam, then glass it. Maybe make a mold for later use. It would be a first try.

The design is completely from your plans, just the pod is different
