"5ezp" saab jas gripen

"Bougusbandit56" ask me, "if you've built and flown one delta canard plane haven't you flown them all?"
Well that's a good very question. I had to build a couple to be able to tell you that yes they each have a distinctly different personality. The Typhoon is quite stable and I find I can put her into a dive from a hundred feet and she will dive for 75' and then level out on her own. She also quite easily rolls over and flies inverted. Not so much with the MIRAGE which is also quite a bit more twitchy in her roll. So Far the TYPHOON I find to be the most over all fun to fly with the RAFALE a close second.
Now realize that I am flying all of these with just elevons. I found that the Su-47 became a different airplane when I built and flew it with working ailerons, rudders and canards.
So my intention is to activate the canards and perhaps also the rudders on these planes to see how they handle.

My next new build is the SAAB Gripen.
It will have the same "Trident" tail config as my Mirage, Rafale, YAK-130, and Skyray. She will be about the same size as my "5EZP" Mirage and be powered by a Grayson Hobby Super-Sonic motor.
Here also is the beginning of my Gripen pattern.

It was a rough maiden but I finally got her dialed in without destroying her.

I think you need a oscillating edf for the bugs.

Yup. and on a head mount above the GOPRO.

I fiddled around with the canard setups and finally settled on less preset up trim and (with the plane ever so slightly tail heavy) ended up with only a couple clicks of elevator trim.
