The only way to do that would to be buy just the spare parts and build your own using the board/with built in receiver if choice. But then you'd have to figure out how to mount the board/rx. It's an all in one unit. What transmitter are you wanting to link to?

Yep yep. That's why I wondered what type of tx he's wanting to use. If its a 9x then just order a v929 and call it a day.

Hey guys, I got some 600mAh batts for my mqx. They are a bit longer than stock 500 and have a bit of slide. Sorry, sure its been asked before, but any tips on balancing/securing?

You can add a piece of heat shrink to add thickness or also a different stopping point. Also I know some have cut off the battery cage and used Velcro instead.

A couple of strips of scotch tape will do the trick to tighten them up.

Hi Jake,
Which one performs better for you? What Tx's are you using for each one?
Cheers,
Jim

Thanks for the tips on securing batts - went with small bands of surgical tubing. Makes a good stop and the rubber holds tight against the underside of body.

I am using the stock tx for the v929 and a DX6i for the mQX...I find the MQX a lot easier to controll..I feel the v929 is very quick,

As long as you avoid getting close to full throttle, the stabilization system works great. Remember, though, that the stabilization system only holds attitude, not altitude or position. Those will change with the wind velocity.

I flew mine last weekend in winds of 12 gusting to 20+ (some reports had gusts to 30 that day). As an indication, the several flips I tried that day ended up 20 feet behind the flight line due to wind. Most airplanes (including my Super Cub 25e) were grounded by the higher gusts but my mQX handled them just fine, with a little pilot input. Note in the photo how my hair is being blown

I do have to say that there were a couple gusts that exceeded its forward speed capability. At that point, I had to tilt it so far forward that there wasn't enough lift to keep it up. But it was remarkable how well it handled the wind.

Paul
I had mine out this afternoon in 8mph winds and it handled great....my 120sr went backwards....I was flying the MQX all over the yard......awesome little machine...even took out the v929 and had a blast....a little more twitchy in the wind than the MQX, but just as much fun!

Good stuff Jake. Mine is down right now. Have a bad mesh on one of the gears so ordered a few ones and waiting on them to come in. I tried flying it on Saturday, but it just kept doing weird things because of the bad mesh, so I landed it and am now just trying to be patient.

Are you talking about the white gear that meshes with the motor? If so, it is the same gear used on an MSR/MSRX...got an old MSR/MSRX laying around?

Thanks. Didn't realize that. Unfortunately when I sold my msr I sent every extra part with it. . However now that I know that I can pick it up at the local hobby shop. For some reason they don't carry any of the mqx parts but always have msr/msrx parts on hand.

I have 3 LHS and none of them carry any spare parts for the MQX...I really need a new canopy.
