i tried to use this command compile .asm

avrasm32 -fI tgy.asm

the avrasm32 gives error when boot_loader =1..

tgy.asm(1625): error: Relative branch out of reach

if set boot_loader=0.. then it output a 6kb .hex..

i did not try to flash that.. just the size doesnt look right

i tried to compile from older version.. tgy_2012-06-01_07c3957.zip
no error with compiling

i guess there might be some code in newer version do not work well with avrasm2

Is there a list of changes made to this firmware in the last year or so? Would be nice to have some overview. Thinking of upgrading the firmware from 8 months old to a new one, but ofc only when this makes sense.....

Just thought I would chime in here on another ESC that works.

I've been buying OEM ZTW escs from quantumhobby.com. I really like them because they are quality escs and because I get fantastic service from quantum. They are more money than HK escs but I would rather pay a little extra to get a consistent product (I know what will be showing up at my door) from a US vendor with fast shipping. From my understanding the ZTW branded escs use better quality parts over the blue series they send to HK. My 20A ztw a-series has this fet on it.

Anyway, the bs_nfet.hex firmware worked just fine. Attached is a picture of the board and how to hook it up.

Please update the spreadsheet with this information:
ZTW OEM esc 20A with pads n-fet bs_nfet.hex source: Quantum Hobby - ZTW A-Series 20A w/2A BEC

yup and I actually have flashed these with the latest firmware and they seem to be running the pancake motors just fine.... I upped my minimum throttle on the CC3D and have not had timing issues etc. since.

ps I did have some of these for sale but the profit was pretty much zero, I am keeping some to help out anyone down the road who may fry one.. but I have yet to get one returned so I can vouch for the ESC quality.

edit... mine were claimed to be 25 amp actually so not exactly the same.. however it looks very similar and the pads are the same as you have labeled.

I have one problem with one of 8pc hobbyking F-30A.
They was already flashed with SimonK firmware, i decide to update it with latest fw+ bootloader!
What i have:
8pc HK F-30A esc, latest version kkflashtool, usbasp programmer and handmade pins

7 esc flashed normaly..last one with problem!
Few times while flashing..my home made pins disconected from pads..
After it..kkflashtool stops reconize target boards ;(
I solder wire directly to pads..same problem-"check connection and try again"!
How you think..what i can do with this esc?
Do i bricked it?

It seems to have the same specs as the HK F-20A and the model number on the HiModel esc seems to be a close match. Since the HK F-20A seems to be always out of stock I'm hoping that this esc might be a good replacement.

i would suggest to open it up and check with F20A picture... same spec might have different chip (fets)... just to prevent magic smoke

Thanks. I manage to flash it with bs.hex and tested with a PSU @ 9V and cheap 2S motor.. works.. And switch to the 3515 motor and using PSU too at 9V, works..

Then using 6S batt, successful. Runs quieter and lesser no load current and power consumption.

Before flashing, it was 0.67A 15W. After flashing, 0.6A 13W, no load.

Dissapointed that it is totally different from 30A version, where the pads are available.
The line of connectors on top connects 2 board to each other - "CPU board" to "FET" board. Can those connections be used for flashing?
