Yippee!
Show us your micro slopers!

So, who flies micros on slope?

Well, summer is over and slope season is beginning to wind up here. Recently i have been interested in small slope planes, and have been working on turning springer's OSG into a micro sloper.

I scaled it down 50% to a 30" span, made a full flying vertical surface, a tail loosely based on the Champ shape, and stuffed a UM Mustang brick in it.

Close in flying with the 1s OSG Micro (1 min 40 sec)

I've got 5 different wings i carry with me now, and i can swap 'em for the wind conditions. It's easy to hike up the hill carrying a few oz of foam vs 60" of wing as well. These small planes are also a fun challenge to fly, as they are responsive to the air.

Now i'm looking for some other ideas for micro slope planes.

Perhaps I'm a *little* bit biased, but the best one is my design.
The mini-Macchi..... 24 inches of pure slope fun!

Love the thread idea.

Would also be interested in super micro radio setups people are using (rx and servos)

Keith, that thing is beast! I love it!

This morning i whipped up a poly-anhedral wing for the OSG Micro that flies absolutely amazing. Here's some pics, hopefully i got some good stuff on the flight video!

Here's one of mine. Scratch built in the late 90's, 30" span. Maybe not "micro", but certainly small.

So what's the definition of a "micro sloper"?

No hard definition, just small slopers in the 30" and under range, or miniaturized versions of larger planes.

Not mine but always thought this micro rodent (17.5" span) was pretty cool..... anyone know if it's flown yet?

I guess I'm just outside the "official" 30 inch rule. But I slope my 32" scratchbuilt DLG on some small ledges just down the street whenever the wind is east. Hmmm, wind is east today. If the rain would stop now.....
Been building these in various sizes for about 3 years. Flies on very light lift. Most were XPS and lam. film, this one is vac. bagged with lost foam pod.

That EPP Hawk from South Africa looks like a great mini sloper. They're a tad over the 30" mark too
