I'll post some in-flight video once the indoor flying season (aka "winter") arrives...

Seasons Greetings from Jasta 518!

I had a chance to meet up with Dustoff Kris over the weekend for some indoor flying and we got our two Flyzone Albatross Mods together for some photos - so without further ado, here they are!

Does anyone know when flyzone quit selling the white spinner with the propeller/spinner pack? I needed a new prop and bought one (from Tower) and got some small black spinners instead. The part number is the same but will look all wrong when it's mounted.

I started making my own spinners years ago our of cheap cooler foam. Or packing foam. Just break off a cube. Mount it to a dremmel. Spin it up. And start sanding/filing.

I thought of trying to make them to after thinking I may not be able to get replacements. There's a Michael's near me So I also thought of going by there to see if they sell foam balls that I could cut a piece off that be a close fit.

I think you'll find foam balls extremely hard to work - large cells and brittle.

As leethetreeguy suggested, it's easy to make your own ... as shown here.

Hi.
Just got this airplane and is my first airplane with a non-spektrum receiver. Fellow I bought it from said receiver appeared dead - it may be........ but please tell me if a light s/b flashing when I plug a battery in like with a spektrum receiver.
This is without any Tx or AnyLink hooked up. If should be, then is the receiver indeed dead?

Not sure, but I think the flyzone brick is supposed to have a light. I replaced mine with the brick from the Horizon hobby Champ, and swapped the fragile metal pushrods for the Champ's carbon fiber rods, and swapped the motor and prop as well. A used, broken Champ was about $50 on eBay as I recall and I stripped it for parts. The Albatross flies much better with the Champ innerds and doesn't make all that grinding, chattering noise as well.

As for the guy who needs a prop and spinner - my local hobby store has a couple in stock. I just noticed them on Tuesday. They also have fuselages, wings, tail feathers...enough spares to make 2 brad new Albatrosses if anyone were so inclined. Here's a link to their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Adiro...422675?fref=ts
