EXTREME CNC ALLOY 70, 80, 90mm & 127mm FANS / RAMTEC /JETFAN / CS 70mm

This thread is for introducing my Extreme fan combos, CNC alloy housing designs and all the combos that can be set up with them. There are many combos listed on the website and of course lots of potential combos that are not listed, the sky is the limit when it comes to what can be created with the right rotor and motor!

NEW! EXTREME ALLOY 80mm Fan unit!
Yup thats right, 80mm fan units for all those Eflite models, there will be a variety of setups available for these babies, the new housings are optimised to suit almost every 90mm rotor on the market (cut down of course).

The rotors available are factory machined down and balanced before being shipped out to me.

ROTORS:
Wemotec Midifan PRO 6 blade cut to 80mm and dynamically balanced.
Wemotec Midifan EVO 11 blade cut to 80mm and dynamically balanced.
JETFAN 9 blade rotor cut to 80mm, these are precision assembled by E-jets and have excellent balance.

I designed the motor housing to take the HET 700 series motors, 39.2mm diameter with matching motor cone.

Wemotec rotors will of course be the standard issue, and the fan performs extremely well with a cut down Midifan PRO rotor, will be on par with the tamjets TJ80 wemo fan unit, 2200 watts will get you around 3kg thrust on 6 cells. 8 & 10 cell setups also available, in fact we can set these up with pretty much anything!

Also in is the
NEW EXTREME ALLOY 90mm fan unit!
Brand new design housing with new stators, 39mm motor housing for all the new HET 700 series motors, optimised shroud diameter and a stepped lip at the front that takes Wemotec and HET clip on inlet rings!

Wemotec rotors are of course standard issue, with the new Wemotec EVO 11 Blade rotor being the new WOOSH fan that promises even better efficiency than the king, the Midifan!

The housings are a little longer than the old 90mm, they have been designed to take all rotors including the deep multi blade rotors currently available from CS.

Ohhh right. Don't be hasty, I should tell myself ey?

As I would give a darn about a "trademark policy".

I got my opinion and no problems to share and express it in any way I choose too.

If those Impellers/EDF units are not of full alloy then of what? Bubble Gum? Aloe Vera? Cotton?

Cheers

The 8s setup will vary depending on batteries you use, when I tested it ages ago I got around 93 amps, 2590 watts and 4.25kg thrust. With newer higher C packs this should be up at 100A and 4.4kg thrust.

For the hot 10s setup with HET700-83-1445Kv it pulls 113-115A on good packs, 3900 watts and 5.3kg thrust (11.66lb).

You can also use the 700-68-1400Kv, a little milder on 10s the amps drop to around 100, thrust in the high 4kg range.

The beauty of the new motor housing is there are so many new 700 series motors, with such varied Kv we can set up practically anything, the wemo rotor is happy to tool around at 2.5kg or bang out over 5kg, very versatile.

Impressive stuff!
I would have never expected an 80mm to perform that well on such a large diam. motor... That's some serious efflux as well.
BTW... Do you ever sleep? It would seem you are non-stop on it :-)
Cheers,
H.

Same mounting method as all my previous alloy fans, alloy brackets siliconed to the sides of the housing. Its convenient for you guys as it means you can fit the fan into the duct then drop the brackets in place, mark out where they go and silicon them on. Like this photo:

I am working on a new L shaped bracket this week, hoping it will cut back the time to make them by half, no machining down a larger extrusion to the size needed, this will be a simple cut, mill the ends, and drill holes.

I have thought about bolting the brackets to the housing as well, it would be simple enough to thread the bracket and use some button head bolts through the shroud into the bracket, but this means fixed mounting points that cannot be adjusted to suit a model. Also the silicon gives a degree of damping.

EXTREME 80mm Alloy fan

Here is a shot of the new 80mm 12 blader, runs nice, soon as I have brackets on it I will get thrust figures on the stand and then run a few motors and the wemo rotor as well.

The 80mm WEMO Midifan PRO 6s version will produce numbers on par with the tamjet version, I have a few motors for it, 700-60-2080Kv, 700-68-2100Kv, 700-68-2250Kv. Can do 8s versions as well.
