Build Log
The O-ffical O-Fungle thread.

I am building an O-fungle. What you ask is an O-fungle. It is a Nutball with the meat
cut out.

Don't even know if it will fly. But, like me, It is cheap.

19 1/2" span, weight 6oz, motor Powerup 250 Slofly 1400kv. HU10a esc, 77W.
Powerup 9g servos. 2" GWS wheels. 8X6sf GWS prop. 2s 800mah.

Dollar store foam. 1/2X1/2"X24 balsa boom

Wing? Fuselage? With rudder and elevator.

Link; Post #5900, plans are there, for the 19.5, enlarge by 2.4.

Didn't want to clutter up GG's Nutball thread.

I was making a joke. Didn't mean to offend.

Cool plane though. Does it fly better with the "hole"? Is it merely for the looks department or does the cut out offer aerodynamic atributes? Thanks.

I predict it will fly more efficiently, ie: it has the equivalent of a higher aspect ratio, so you could fly faster farther and longer, but will lack the low-speed "floating" characteristics of a standard nutball. Probably won't harrier well.

This looks like a blatant attempt to save money on glue, paint and trim.

Should be ready in a couple days, I have meetings the next three days, not full days,
but high stress meetings.

Mockup at this time. No motor on hand for a stick mount, so ply firewall.

Think about it. could be added later.

Right now the problem I see is getting the weight back, I do mean back. With the motor mounted,
the CoG is about right. No servos, battery, rec, esc. push rods, horns yet.

With all the major components I am just under 5oz. The servos, 9g, will be the adjustment for
the CoG, I will make a moveable mount and leave the rods long. The battery will be on the CoG.

So far it is looking good, but looks don't fly, If looks made airplanes fly, the C130 would be
a submarine.

My vote is for the Storch. Ugly. C-130 is better looking.
