There is no advantage I know of to stalling a servo or getting "Blow Back" of a surface. Either of these events happening causes very high amp draw and can cause brown outs / shorten a servo life dramatically.

Speed and Centering is a high priority, at least to me. Its like 72Mhz verses 2.4. With 72 the transmission is slower so often you are "chasing" the control, doing things in advance to comp for the latency. The next step is to take that latency of of the servo so slight move happen more real time. Hovering is a good example of fast minor corrections. If you are always a half move behind the needed correction, the chase is on.

I am saying if your existing servos can't hold the deflection, then stronger servos are worth it and have an advantage.

Low torque digitals are fine as long as you only need low torque on the plane.

72MHz vs 2.4GHz - Just RF frequencies.

The real difference is in the data modes. As the computers have improved, new communications modes. Frequency hopping started in amateur radio quite some time ago.

Sometimes the frequencies used are just a matter of the FCC and world frequency allocations for various purposes which, in part, is based on the band-width of the data modes used.

In general, as the data rates increase, the bandwidth increases. Dealing with a channelized band, there are restrictions to how much you can increase band-width before you have channel to channel interference.

The multi-frequency modes needed a new home that would allow the systems to use the multiple frequencies with out interference with each other.

Anyway, sometimes people don't realize that a lot of what is considered in th 2.4GHz systems have nothing to do with the frequency.

I still have 72MHz capability but it is getting more and more impractical to use it.

Bandwidth and Resolution seems to be the drivers that are really increasing with these products. Radio resolution really helps take advantage to the digital servo for more refine movements. Freq is just the carrier... Not a lot of people bother to look beyond that to Wayne's point.

My buddies Turbine Jet, doesnt need a lot of through, a lot of torque, but fair speed and accurate centering are key. A trainer plane just needs enough torque to carry and speed and centering are not critical.

I got to see a set of servos in a large scale plane, very very strong and fast digital servos. The amazing part.... They were silent, even under a load, nother but hinge is heard.

Well, a friend of mine is extracting the alcohol from gasoline. He is hoping to have less troubles with his gas engines.

What does he do with the alcohol? Couldn't we bottle it and call it Fuel?
