Transall C-160 build log

Well it is just about complete and ready to maiden. Installed Spektrum receiver and tucked in all the wiring. Made a deck behind the servo deck and installed the FY-31a on that balsa deck also.
The MasterAirscrew 9x7 three blade props arrived, installed them, and then tested the thrust, not much of an improvement over the 4-blade props I tested previously:

Master Airscrew 9x7 3 blade
Eflight Park 480 x 2 1020 kv
4400 mah 3 cell 40c batt
Total thrust: 5 lbs 2 oz

The all up weight is now 6 lbs 12 oz giving it a thrust to weight ratio of 0.80.
Will try to maiden this weekend and post video

That's what I'm hoping will happen. The stock wing made me nervous. (49 oz per sq. ft. wing loading!)

Maidened it today, flew great, Twinstar II wing is a winner. Took off within 20' climbed strong and flew very stable. Dropped flaps, no ballooning, and it came in very nice. Later I'll see how slow she will land.

Here is the video:

She flies like a heavy Twinstar. I've actually flown my Twinstar pretty close to this weight (6 lbs +) And it handles much like the Twinstar in the turns, no surprises.

Just be sure to check that CG before you T.O...... Even small amounts of weight can make a HUGE difference when put out on the end of a boom like that. The fulcrum effect is far greater than most folks would expect.
