Another first AP

My AP page.

Last weekend was the first time I tried. The weather was fantastic. I was hoping the clouds would clear up today, but I finally gave up waiting.

The camera is an old Fuji MX-1200. The model is large. Ultra Stick Lite (75"), Astro 60 geared (brush motor), 12S 6000mAh LiPo, flight stabilization, g p s homing device, blah, blah, blah,...

Now to find an altimeter, and cheap 3-4MP camera.

Anyone have an idea what altitude was at in the 10/31 shots? The one where you can't see anything is in a cloud.

Hi Greg,

I just got out an old MX-1200 That I have and was wondering if it could be used for AP. Now I know. Could you post some photo's of how you have it mounted?

I'll post a pic when I get home. Keep in mind my airplane is large at 13Lbs or so, even so a much smaller model would carry it.

Here's a pic. Just drilled a 1/4" hole in the fuse bottom and put a bolt into the tripod mount. Double stick tape on the servo for the shutter. You have to remember to take a picture at least every two minutes or this camera shuts off. The manual doesn't say anything about disabling auto shutoff.

In case anyone is wondering those wheels are 4.5" in diameter and the prop is a 19x14.

Sorry I took so long to get back to you. Just got back from a biz trip to Philly.
Thanks for the photo. I don't know if my stock Slow stick will haul that much weight.

I'm going to strap it on an see what happens before I hook up servo's and everything.
