Question about props

Hey guys, i have tried lookin around but have not found a decent answer. Question is apc thin electric vs sport profile. I fly thin e on all my stuff but my local guy only had supply in a 6x 4 sport. Any real flight characteristics that differ? Is pitch pitch no matter the profile, its on a small 1900 kv

I'd bet you will not notice the difference. In theory a thinner blade has less aerodynamic drag and therefore needs less power to produce the same thrust as a thicker blade. You might like to check your amp draw just for the peace of mind. Thick prop is heavier and the increased inertial effects might be noticable during some exotic 3d manouvers - or not. Thin blades are mechanically weaker and would not survive the constant banging of an internal combustion engine, but with electric motor it will be just fine.

I have wondered the same thing from time to time so this is my common practice now. Before I fly a new plane I will buy several different props both in size and pitch. Then I try the different ones and see how the plane flies with each one and check if the motor and/or battery are warm or cool after a flight. After a while you won’t have to buy an array of props because you will have a selection in your tool box already from the ones you culled out. You can also try different props for different conditions; windy or not, hot or cold etc.
It works for me.

I'd just stay away (far away) from Master Airscrew props with e-power. Nuff said.

It doesn't seem like "Nuff" has been said. Can you elaborate?
