It slows down so much that there are huge voids in the foam, up to 5mm at times. Is there a way to solve this?

The reason that I'm using Profili Pro to generate the cut files is that it aligns the trailing edge with the Y axis so that I can fit the cut on the table. I can't do that in GMFC directly.

I notice that the Profili .CUT file contains only absolute coordinates:

T:0.270498 XG:452.069726 YG:68.712649 XD:451.223326 YD:72.919815

whereas the cut files created by GMFC has mostly relative coordinates:

etc.

Could this be causing the problem?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Adrian
Dear Adrian,

The problem is not the format of the .cut files, but what is generated by profili.

If your wing has a lot of taper, the solution is often to cut it as two separate panels. Another solution is to rotate the wing. There is a utility for doing that on the CNCNET web site.

Hi Gilles,

Thank you! I'm not French though, can you tell me which utility that is, or where it is? I can't seem to find it,

Also, I'd like to understand better what Profili is putting out, so that I can perhaps get it to work. Can you give me a bit more detail about what is not working with Profili's output?

Many Thanks
Adrian

Try the delta utility from this page:

I have no idea of what profili is doing. A .cut file is just a set of absolute coordinates and the time to go from one point to the next one.

Thank you very much Gilles! I looks like we might have the problem sorted out. I couldn't see any specific problem in the Profili file, but a dry run on a trial version of GMFC on another machine that is not connected to the network seems to be producing better results.

I will let you know if I can pin it down.

Many thanks for the help so far! I will be building my own cutter in the next few months, and will be using GMFC for sure.

Backordered no more, the wait is over for USA GMFC Foam Cutters. New Stock order of GGC v2 interfaces has arrived in Calif. I will be advising those on the waiting list as well.

Cost shipped to you in the USA via USPS is $ 110.00. It's all included, incoming & outgoing shipping, exchange rates, bank fees, paypal fees, proof of shipment fees, dang there are a lot of fees. :-)

I also have an optional accessory kit available $ 25.00 shipped with a GGCv2. See post # 553 for details. Required if you want the GGC and GMFC to control your heat. The GMFC Foam Libraries where you teach GMFC your table or multiple tables, bows, wire, heat percentage, speed, kerf as you go and learn is one of the best features. Then you only have to select which is being used and cut away taking the guess work and scrapping foam out of the mix.

Regards
Dan

It looks like there is a problem with the GGC V1. Anyone else having this problem?

Please send me the .cnc project and the .bd files of the table and foam so I can investigate where the problem is located.

Hi Mel

For USA customers I only have V2's in stock so it's not an issue. Gilles will figure out if there is a problem with the V1 and the latest update and fix it if need be.

See posts 576 & 577

Mel,

The GGC V1 is no longer sold and has been replaced by the GGC V2 which offers better performance. Check with Dan in the US and Copaero elsewhere.

Differing Number of Points....

Hi All,

I'm trying to cut a fueslage section and have drawn the sections that I need. They both have the same number of points (160) and the same start point but I can't get them to cut because the software tells me I have a differing number of points. Any suggestions?

Thanks!
