It also helps to glass the upper surface, very easy and minimal weight gain .

Hey all,

Quick question: Quality of build, foam, servos and retracts compared to a similar priced Freewing or Lanxiang (skyflight hobby) edf foamies?

Much appreciated!

Do you have the 11 blade?

I have the wemo evo 11 blade, and a het typhoon motor. I had to do some extra balancing with the spinner to make it silky smooth. In the air it's silent unless you are doing a pull on throttle. Sounds like the real thing! 115mph 8S 5000 40C

I ended up fitting the het and emo fan to the stock taft fan shroud because of some issues when I transferred the 8S setup from my first viper (foam hinge failure....). There is a little gap between the fan blades and the housing which only affects out of the hole power. Makes for longer take offs on grass but no issues otherwise

If you fit Wemo Evo into a Het 9305 housing it fits perfectly in it .. That's what is used in most Wemo setups... The new housing is extra solid not like the Taft one which is wafer thin & easily breakable..

You can do it two ways..
1) Dremel off back part of Het lip to form a lip
2) Cut a bit off the Taft Lip ( small bit at a time ) to lessen the diameter of it so it can fit diameter of Het shroud ... Once it fits just epoxy the two joints together ( I used fibreglass cloth as well to bond/strengthen joint. Once dried you can just tape it to the front shroud as per my pics... A bit of improvisation..

So if I understand correctly, you retro-fitted the inlet lip of the Taft shroud to fit the het shroud? Seems easy enough! I think I will benefit from having the fan blades closer to the edge of the inside of the shroud. Only $20 on effluxrc. Thank you!
