Convert kite to paramotor

Hi guys,

Is there a formula to convert the lines of a kite into a paraglider/paramotor?

I have everything with me like a 3m2 kite, motors, props, radios, servos, bats and even a cnc router to produce any needed parts but I can't find any information on how to make this convertion.

Thank you

Regards

Hi!

The most critical part of a good conversion is, to make a new line-set.
You should spend some time finding different threads/blogs of people making paragliders (either some kind of rs-scale or full-size; rcgroups.com, parapenterc.com, paragliderforum.com e.c.t. ...) and get inspired.
Also take a look at Surfplan, a program allowing you to design line-sets.

Good luck

Happy landings :-)

build paramotor

Hi

im looking around to find som scetches of a paramotor trike...

i am a kitesurfer so i have this smal training kite laying around. so i will try to make a paramotor..
It rather big. its a 4m2 kite.
i have a a nice low kv motor ( 360kv )
that draws 30A on 6s. with a 16". prop

if anyone has any drawing sketches or other build logs to show me i would be greatfull.

How big throws do my servos need and what torqe?

how many whatt's of power is needed for every m2,

how light or heavy should it be?

how long lines?

Any advice is apritiated.

Thanx

Good luck! Hope you get it flying. Maybe a more reasonable cost simple option for para-sailing Aero

Have you found any more info on using a power kite as a powered parachute?

I have a 4 line 5.6 sm kite and 2 HobbyKing 94" 1/3 scale ultralights. I'm thinking of building one with a tail and wing and using the gondola from the other one with the kite for a powered parachute.

With my kite already having 4 lines I don't think I need to modify it much, maybe line lengths but that's about it. The front power lines I'll mount static and put the 2 rear brake lines on servos.

I flew my 5.6 sm Peter Lynch kite today for it's maiden. It was pretty impressive how strong it is, and it's visual wow factor. The wind was 10 mph and I had a buddy hold the canopy down while I straightened the lines. A couple of times it pulled me along and a couple of times I had to just let go of it the pull was so strong. I flew it several short flights, each one having more control than the previous.

I definitely need 4 shorter control lines for a powered parachute.

Hi,

Itīs a problem, because the kites dont ready to fly.
I test with one small kite but unsuccessfully.
