Hangar 9 Pizazz

Hi All,
My wife bought me a Hangar 9 Pizazz ARF as a gift, and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with converting it to e-power? TIA

Art,

I was looking at that one as well. Should make a nice conversion.

Jim,
Do you think MEC turbo 10 plus on 10 cells would haul this around? APPROX 400 watts available. I haven't started to assemble it yet, but have weighed the components at about 3 1/4 pounds. Needs four servos and reciever as well. Looks like all up weight would be about 6 1/4 - 61/2 lbs. TIA

A guy who flies at one of the local fields has one powered by one of the Jeti brushless motors. It flies really well. Sorry, I don't have the details.

Art,

I was planning to use 16 cells.

10 cells will work because the plane is very light for its size.

The hot-dog pilot at my field has a Pizzaz, but it is powered by a .81 4 stroke. I know this dosn't help your decision but it is an awesome flyer. Any stunt you can think of and then some. I also don't have a weight on that setup but it is a very good flyer.

Thanks to Fred Bronk, I have a similar plane on the way. I just bought a Dazzler from him and I plan on using 16 cells, a 10x7 prop, and a Jeti 40 brushless. If I can't afford that, I'm going to try the GWRIGHT combo on an Endo, 4.6:1 GB, 12x8 prop, and 10 cells. Either way, when I build the kit, I'm going to replace some of the heavier wood and make lightening holes where I can.

FYI,
The wing is built all it one piece and inserted through the fuse. There is not a lot of room inside the fuse because of this. Getting more than ten cells into the area where the fuel tank goes is going to be pretty difficult. Looks like a 10 cell sub C size pack will fit into this area lying diagonal from bottom of the firewall and over the top of the wing. I have decided to go the turbo 10 route with 10 cells and will post the results on ezone when it's completed. Wish me luck! Thanks, Art

Check out the Dazzler review. The writer removed the sheeting from the LE of the main wing to make more room for the batteries. You may be able to do something similar, if you are interested.
