Those are pretty good odds Tom. I see it is down to 50% chance of rain now which generally means we stay dry. Wind is up already so I think we are in business.

Slope race

I think we broke the jinks. We had 2 flyer for unlimited ( Tom F. & Pat C.) and 2 flyer at 60 " (Terry E. & Bruce A.). We had flying heats and then sat out the rain for 15 minutes. 2 heats (1-heat =10 lengths = 5 laps) of unlimited and 3 heats of 60". We did not have enough fliers in both categories and not enough heats to call it a race for the unlimited. The walkie-talkies did not work as well as hoped, but no serious crashes.

Hope to have more fliers for future races.

Nice day out there today. Warmer temps and smooth air for the most part; we dodged a few showers but they passed quickly. I was able to get my Crossfire Evo tuned a bit better. Really liking this model with the speed of the 2.4 radio system.

Beautiful plane Vic and some really nice flying. Great to see you and hopefully we will have more slope flying at PB.

Wild day yesterday. We couldn't get over the passes comfortably so the wind gods were kind enough to bring Eagle sized flow to Peterson's. We came down from Olympia and arrived at about 10AM to wind in excess of 50 knots. I had forgotten how painful rain is at those wind speeds.

After lunch it calmed down to 25-30 and we really had fun between squalls.
Keith with his Yoda-tun (turn your speakers down). Not sure I know how to embed these but I'll try.



BTW, We lost a black and orange JW 60 over the back. You can see it at the top of one of the trees just north of the last fir and west of the road. If anyone gets hold of it I'll buy you lunch or something. It's also a good excuse to get back down there soon!

Wow Dan! It was windy, rainy, and cold yesterday. You guys are a couple of diehards!! Thanks for the report. I'll keep an eye out for your JW. In all likelihood either Steve or Pat will find it since they get up there often. I'm sure someone will find it and we'll get it to you.

You guys keep this thread going with enthusiasm and humor. It makes it easier for us to roll the dice on weather and make the drive. This time it paid off well enough. Those good flights between squalls are all the sweeter as forbidden fruit. Even sitting in the truck napping to Paul Naton's voice on videos and eating junk food was fun.

Thanks for keeping an eye out for old JW. It'll come down eventually.

Got it from hoodypants
He got it from some guy named Tom, whoever he is, he did a nice job on it all the rivets and stuff ots real old and beat up but it flys GREAT

Sounds like my old Vortec Models P-51 is still flying. It was feathered by Will Byers in his "Labor Of Love" section about 10 years ago. The wing is an RG15 bagged with balsa over foam. The checker board nose was painted on and a pain to do. Glad it is still flying.

Anyone going to be at Peterson tomorrow (Monday)? Wind looks good and the rain looks like it will not be a problem. I hope to be there around 10am and I have to leave at noon.
