Do any of them have a groove for a c-clip at 34mm? If not I'll look for a small locking collar of some sort for the back of the motor.

Pretty close, looks one of them is about 35mm from the end with the groove
for the set screw.

Not sure on 74", don't have electronics for it currently and have been spending way too much $ lately including the Yamahah generator I just bought, receiver hitch being installed next week in my escape, and rec storage rack still to come to haul more stuff including genny to the field

I do have some JR 8717 lying around I could use and was thinking I may pull Motrofly 4325, ICE100 and rec out of my 72 to get the 74" airborn sooner.... hmm....

8717's would make for some wickedly fast control surfaces...

Yes, I have had some control issues of late
I was all over the board on the genny, first thought was cheap as possible 800 watt 2 stroke (perhaps small enough to shoe horn in car somewhere), but that would not have enough juice for full power of charger. Then started looking at mid range 4 stroke, almost pulled the trigger on a Honeywell. In the end I figured it was a buy once deal so why not get something nice. I ended up buying a Yamaha EF2000is which is supposedly quieter than the Honda 2000.

Nice.. How many watts do the power supplies draw when the charger is at full tilt?

No clue, there will be overhead in both the charger and power supplies but not sure how much. I'm sure the genny will handle it with ease though.

Ok, just tested my I charger with the 24 volt power supplies.

The power supply draws 6 amps or 702 watts at 117 VAC out of the wall while charging at a full 30amps.

Specs on generator:
Max Watts: 2000W
Rated Watts: 1600W
Rated Current: 13.3A

Looks like there should be plenty to run your charger and say....one more of your buddies i chargers if he gets in a pinch.

I'm surprised you went for a generator...

Didn't like the two deep-cycle 12V batteries idea like Chris and Everyday Flyer do?

How many cells were you charging? Max amps 30 regardless but higher cells=more watts at same Amps. But I did figure genny could support more than one charger

My original thought was a gen could fit inside car, perhaps still could. Batts would be bigger, I'd have to worry about charging them all the time, and I was unsure how much I could charge from them. Perhaps that would have been better, who knows.

I just looked up Charles' set up. Cool, but not uncomplicated.

Here's the thread:

I wonder how Chris has his set up...
