Sweet Fifteen takes to the air.

After waiting for what seemed forever for the wind to stop the Sweet Fifteen had it's first flight 3 weeks ago, it was set up slightly nose heavy just to be safe for this test, I thought it best to use a 3x2200 battery and a 11 x 7 prop so it wouldn't be too fast, well it flies, but it flies like a nose heavy model so the next thing was to put the c of g right, the second flight was much better, both flights were very short so this weekend it had some proper testing and I'm very happy with it. With this power the climb is about 45%. The balance looks to be about right and the glide is flat and can be slowed right down with some up trim. I'm now looking at adding more power. I was lucky to have help this weekend and Tony had his camera.

Glad to here the SF goes OK, you must be relieved to have finally got over the initial flights it's been a long wait. I hope I don't have to wait as long for a weather window with the La Paloma, I'm getting twitchy after a week!

Congratulations Colin! Great to see it in the air albeit in a photo. Was unfortunately not able to make it Saturday with many other things on at present. Sounds like it was a great event with good weather, record numbers of participants, and no doubt a lot of chin wagging!

Colin, here's a short video of my glider using your Sweet Fifteen set up with the motor in front of the wing, both set up on a pylon. I used a non lifting stab, so I really did need the extra 6 oz + up in the nose area ahead of the prop. Exactly what I want for a camera mount area.
