I get just over 550w with the 11X4 Zoar. I am going to start with this setup. I have some 3200
3s I may try later.

Figuring out where to mount stuff, I cut an opening under the wing for the rec. Gets all the
wires out of the way of battery changes.

Thanks for the comments.

Nice thing is the CoG is good with the battery at the rear edge of the LG plate, battery
is easy to change out.

Well somewhere out there someone has mine...

Was flying touch and goes off a sand bar at a nearby lake. Did one touch a little too hard, and flipped it over. No problem, go home change clothes so I could wade out to get it.

Get back and it's no where to be seen. Return a second time with a camera plane and it's no where on the lake.

Checked the homes that sit on the far side of the lake and no one knows anything.

Oh well, somewhere someone has a nearly brand new bird. With all brand new equipment and packs (6S) Apparently my AMA #'s on the outside and phone #'s on the inside didn't mean anything to whomever found it.

Screw it, I bought a Twinstar to replace it with.

Hi GG,
Sorry to hear the plight of your model. I remember you're going to use 6S and v powerful motor etc.

If it's any consolation, I lost my EF Super Cub about 18 months ago under similar circumstances except it got stuck on a small tree. By the time I went back from the club house with a long pole - it just disappeared from the three.. I take someone's need was greater than mine but could not afford to buy his/her own. I take the view that I've given it to a charity.

You'd not regret getting a TwinStar 2. It's an excellent flyer, very forgiving and even with 3S, it flies like a rocket. I use 2S, 3000 mAh LiPo and get 25 min plus without trying.

BTW, I made "T" tail for my TS2 and now it has undercarriages too.

You should have your TS2 ready by this weekend

Cheers

CD, thanks! Yeah hope they enjoy it. Nice job on the T tail.

BHOFM Nice job. Word of advice, check the prop frequently. The wood tends to compress on the prop over time, and the prop will loosen up. Been there done that.

And a pair of tips. or 3.

Add some skid tape to the lower cowl intake. It takes the brunt of a nose over and saves the foam. It will happen.

Save the wing tips. I glued a single control horn to the wing tip in front of the lip that runs down the chord on the end.
It takes the abuse if you ground loop, instead of the wing tip. And easy to replace if need be.
Kinda like the "axe handles" you see on WWI planes.

an envelope arrived today... I'll have it 3D modeled for printing actual size tonight.

I might also scale it up a little for bigger stuff as well.

The 3d prints came out nice... now it's just a color choice.... black, milk white, red , purple, green, yellow, orange?

I'll scale them up to double size as well and post pics.

Fresh off the printer... They will look much better with a mild sanding of the rough edges and strings and properly acetone dipped to become nice and shiny...

1.5x and 2x size are in process. Will post pictures of those once printed.

I don't see the pins? Are we going to drill and use a shaft of some sort? CF rod? 2mm bolt and nut?

yes, music wire.

I'm thinking of narrowing the whole assembly for less drag and making the pads larger for better attachment to the foam.
