I have had it work with the latest version of google earth.

Little bit fed up with Feiyu Tech.....

OK, first of all, their products are great and reasonable price performance.

The reason I get fed up is their response to questions, they way they "fix" problems and things like what Arck is experiencing.

I have been asking for a proper manual on the PID settings for about 1/2 a year now. All I get back is rubbish. No explanation on what the values stand for, what they do and examples of behavior, recommended value changes and observations.

The PC software is working, and that's about it. One mistake and it hangs, or gives you an error message in Chinese.

The FY31AP gives you a wrong total flight indication, I reported this to Feiyu. First response: Nothing wrong. I send them a prove video with comparison between the timer on my camera and the timer on the OSD, response: Uhhh oh yes, something wrong. Update of software follows: all in imperial. Next update in metric, still have deviation in timer. Not as big as before, but still there.

Look at what people mention in this threat about sending the products for repair and how it came back....

And this list goes on and on.

I do not understand why, when you have such great products that are sold worldwide and I assume not in small quantities, you not try to focus on customer satisfaction and improving your products and service. There will come a point where customers start to complain massively and walk away from the products.

Am I the only one getting fed up????

This was the answer I got (7 March 2013) on the problems I reported:

Dear Sir

(1)For flight time indication problem.
We will release a new firmware next week to fix it.

(2)We will send you "Turn control PID adjust instruction" by attachment.
Please find enclosed!
That one should enough for you adjust PID parameters.

im fed up completly with fytech, after my fy31ap came back with the exact same fault, all they have said is send it back to china again and we will test it again. what a joke.

I know the 3D gcs can hang some peoples computers... mine has not had this issue.. but the 2D one should work well if you are running each time as an administrator.

As for PID explanation yes it could be better for sure, I have to make some educated guesses when reading the instructions too... best thing to do here is to just try different numbers and see for yourself the changes.

Motofox, that sucks man... I would be annoyed as well... Obviously I don't work for them but I will ask what could possibly be causing this issue...

Motofox can you PM me some of your order details like the name that is used on the order... you never know maybe I can get something happening faster.

You know Steve, the point here is that this is a commercial product, not a DIY product like the ardu project. From that, you can expect no support, no manual, etc. But actually, the documentation there is even much better.

When I buy a finished, commercial product, I expect it to be complete:

- Manuals
- Warranty
- After sales service

A car manufacturer once mentioned:

When we sell cars like these days software is being sold, we would be out of business in no time at all. When your car has a malfunction, close all windows, switch off the car, and restart. Do you think anyone would accept that for a car?????

I know these are hobby products and we are hobbiests. But still we can expect certain quality level in the products that we buy. The FY31AP in my case is working well and I ignore the software problems.

But I think it is time Feiyu Tech realizes they have obligations as a manufacturer towards their customers.

well I would not go so far as that... honestly they were one of the first with a decent working autopilot at a cheap price.... I tired all ardupilot hardware versions and up until their recent APM 2.5 was released I would never fly Ardu over FY stuff...

I do agree though that they need to step up the documentation and programs but I don't think they have as much resourse as we may think.

I won't go into politics about china vs us, I think we should support as much local business as possible but it's pretty tough lately.

Hi guys, thank for your replies, could someone send me the software GCS 4, someone whose using win 7 with 64 bits, not the FY link, im thinking that the downloaded software from FY is corrupt, I try everything, GSC 3, 4, 2D, 3D, nothing. win xp, win 7,,,,and nothing, doesnt work,,always the same message in chineese, Screen and GE works fine, the problem is uploading the gst map in GCS,,,,,

And that is exactly where it goes wrong. When you are in business, either you do it right, either you step out. If they don't have enough resources, get them. If you cannot get them, stop your business. They have great products, and with that little bit extra, they could be the best. Not for nothing they are all over the place. Almost every shop sells Feiyu products.

I guess you have some "connection" within Feiyu. They should also do something about their website. Make it easy for us "non techi guys" to find updates and info. Maybe you can give them a strong "hint".

I know they are a young start-up company with technocrats and they probably spend most of their time being technical. But it's time they grow up.

I totaly agree with the guy who said chinese software is crap. It really is. Ive installed lots of ptz dome ip cameras and the software is appaling. Ive had chinese video grabber boards and software was useless.. saying that most software has bugs look at windows, they are permanatly patching it and always will.. ive not used the gcs software but i bet it looks great but buggy as hell. will work on a few configurations of hardware but not all. Typical chineae software.

Agreed guys but at this point we all know there is an issue with their software so we can elect not to buy it....

I Know of at least one person looking into making his own GCS by reverse engineering the data link. We were thinking if doing a kick starter program.
