Hey Ron,

I only waited 40 min or so between the black and the white on the bottom. It was still tacky when the second coat was applied. I used a lot of paint, don't know if that makes a difference. The thermal builders out there would have been horrified.

Some pics of the elevator hinge and a size comparison next to a Needle DSL stabiliser.

The hinge turned out well but it took a very long time. Should be better prepared for the next one, definitely need to cut the time it took to do that job. The hinge is nice and loose too, and moves 90 degrees without any effort.

Making the wiper is going to be very interesting, there is 2mm or maybe slightly less between the skins at the tips of the elevators. I guess if you can have a wiper on a D40 stabiliser then this couldn't be any worse.

Looks really nice Sean ,with a bit more practice scoring the hinge will speed up.
Needle stab looks a bit boring next to the Deepend one
