Spanked my E-starter

Well, I started building this brick at 6am and was finished by noon.

Admitedly, I'm using a 7cell HE pack; however, by the time I was done AUW was 17.05 ounces.

I hadn't finished with the visual trim job, but I had to go fly the thing.

I have to admit that I've only flown R/C with a slowstick and didn't consider that I would need 50+ feet of take off room to get this thing off the ground....this thing is going to force me to get a mini AC brushless...

Then like a complete dork, thought I would go ahead and fly it w/o the gear....completely forgeting about the HUGE change in CG it would cause by leaving the lg off......resulting in.......

All repairable considering that it came in nose first like a brick from 25-30 feet up....have to do something about the lg though....stuffed all the gear I had borrowed from the SS back on and had a good day flying anyway.....

Nothing a little PU or epoxy won't fix. Is this stock other than the battery?

I'm surprised you were able to get up to 25' if the CG was way off. With all that weight and tail heavy the wing was probably near stall the entire time. Ailerons are a whole new ballgame when you are used to flying R/E only.

Strong hand launch at full throttle gets it up there....and then noses in.......A little epoxy goes a long way...not a problem... would fly it again this afternoon if I hadn't worn the transmitter battery down to 20% on the slowstick...the only other non-stock is the 9x7-3 blade prop...Motocalc says same thrust at a lower motor temp...
