Midget Mustang Mini EP... anybody flying it?

I just received my Midget Mustang Mini EP from Airborne Models and it already looks fast standng still! All wood construction and the graphics are top notch and this one closed the deal on me- it comes with a brushless outrunner motor for less than $80.! Very compact at 27.5 in wingspan, always ready at a moment's notice to take on any field that comes my way- like my trusty Wattage Hawk which is now discontinued. I'm beginning assembly tonight and just taking up tips from any of you who already enjoying It! Thanks.

Two things:
1) C.G. is too far back, I crashed it on maiden because it was tail heavy.
2) Elevator throws printed on manual are too much! Plane is uncontrollable, try 1/3 of the recomended throw and it flies really nice now.
Once both of those issues were taken cared of and some repairs, it flies great and is FAST! 2S Lipos is enough to get a great flight on stock motor, but really screams on 3S lipos, very aerobatic.

Hi

I just got one coming in the mail. What C of G measurement did you use? I will use less throws like you have.

Thanks

Steve

Still flying mine,
goes like something off a stick! A great fun little plane. I flipped it twice on concrete yesterday trying to get my approaches slower and I thought it would be trash, went to have a look at it and absolutely nothing was damaged not even a scratch on the covering, the model is built like a brick something house.

What the heck are they running in them, didn't think you would be able to get enough power into something that small.

lol, just spotted this thread.

Yep, the speed was 347kph, airspeed !
Speed measurements taken with the onboard eagletree seagul telemetry.

Im still flying this plane, have had at least 10 different motors through it, some lasted only a few flights, lol

A motor over 4,000kv with a prop with about 5" pitch gets you pretty good speed generally.

But even just a small 5,000kv heli motor on a lightweight 2S setup is pretty sweet swinging a 5x5 prop.

cheers
